In the industrial field, the stable and efficient operation of routers is of vital importance. The regulation of industrial-grade routers, industrial-grade 4G routers, and industrial-grade router WiFi is the key to ensuring a smooth network. Here are some practical adjustment methods
Hardware connection and placement adjustment
Select an appropriate installation location: Industrial-grade routers should be installed in a dry, well-ventilated and temperature-appropriate environment, far away from strong electromagnetic interference sources such as large motors and transformers. At the same time, placing the router at a higher position, such as the upper part of the equipment cabinet, can reduce the obstruction of the signal by obstacles and expand the signal coverage.
Correct connection of lines: Carefully check whether the power supply, network cable, antenna and other connections are firm. VPN configuration: For scenarios where remote access to industrial networks is required, configuring a VPN (Virtual Private Network) is an effective means to ensure data security. You can choose VPN protocols such as IPsec, PPTP, and L2TP, and set parameters such as the VPN server address, account, and password.
User authentication and access control: Set complex and hard-to-crack router management passwords and change them regularly. At the same time, enable the MAC address filtering function to only allow authorized device MAC addresses to connect to the router’s WiFi network, preventing illegal devices from accessing.
Other functional adjustments
Wireless signal strength adjustment: Generally, industrial-grade routers have a wireless signal strength adjustment option, which can be adjusted appropriately according to actual needs. In areas where the signal coverage is insufficient, the signal strength can be appropriately enhanced. If there is a signal interference problem, the signal strength can be reduced to decrease the interference range.
QoS Settings: QoS (Quality of Service) refers to the quality of service. By setting QoS rules, different types of network traffic can be prioritized. If the flow priority of industrial control instructions is set to the highest, it ensures that they can be transmitted first when the network is congested, guaranteeing the stability of industrial production.
Device Management and Maintenance: Log in to the router’s management interface regularly to check the device’s operating status, including CPU usage rate, memory usage rate, number of network connections, and other indicators. The router can be set to automatically restart at regular intervals to release system resources and solve some potential software problems.
